Event Description:
Join us for a two-day/6-hour wheel throwing workshop that focuses on tea pot fundamentals. This workshop provides hands-on guidance through each step of the process, from basic tea pot form-making to more elaborate spout and handle designs. Targeted for potters with foundational wheel-throwing skills (a minimum of two 8-week courses or equivalent experience is required) you’ll leave not only with a new skill set, but with your very own hand-made tea pot as well!
Day 1 THROWING
• Teapot designs and variations.
• Functional considerations
• Throwing your teapot elements
• Tips and tricks to improve your results
Day 2 TRIMMING/FINISHING
• Trimming, assembling, decorating and refining your teapot.
• Selecting your favourite glaze
We will glaze your pieces with your selected glaze choice. Pieces will be ready for pick up within 4 weeks of completion.
What to bring: Please bring your own towel or apron.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
How to prepare: Short nails are best and bring a hair tie if you have long hair
Classes & Workshops are non-refundable. If you change your mind, we will try to fill the spot and if successful, will provide a refund less a $50 admin fee. We reserve the right to not provide a refund if the spot cannot be easily filled.
