Event Description:
Join us for a two-day/6-hour pottery wheel workshop that offers an immersive introduction into the art of ceramics. This workshop provides hands-on guidance through each step of the pottery wheel process, from centring and shaping clay to forming your very own ceramic creation. Designed especially for beginners, this workshop offers personalized support with just 8 students per class. You’ll leave not only with a newfound appreciation for pottery but with a beautiful handmade piece (or two) ‘to boot’!
Day 1 THROWING
• The basics of using a pottery wheel
• Techniques for centring, shaping, and forming clay
• How to create a unique ceramic piece from start to finish
• Tips and tricks to improve your results
Day 2 TRIMMING/FINISHING
• Trimming and refining your pottery pieces
• Decorating and/or adding a handle
• Selecting your favourite glaze
We will glaze your pieces with your selected glaze choice. Pieces will be ready for pick up before end of March.
What to bring: Please bring your own towel or apron.
What to wear: Comfortable clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty.
How to prepare: Short nails are best and bring a hair tie if you have long hair
Classes & Workshops are non-refundable. If you change your mind, we will try to fill the spot and if successful, will provide a refund less a $50 admin fee. We reserve the right to not provide a refund if the spot cannot be easily filled.
